I’m a sucker for Christmas – it’s my most favorite thing in the world!
Growing up in Australia, I was no stranger to a warm Christmas, and moving to Florida was no different… until a few years back when a friend of mine told me about ICE! at the Gaylord Palms.
This year, ICE! is based on the classic holiday poem, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas and is a walk-through spectacle of two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures, ice slides, and an ice bar – all kept at a chilly 9 degrees Fahrenheit. And how could I forget, my favorite part of all of this, the alpine rush snow tubing area- what a thrill!

The Gaylord Palms provides all guests with calf-length, hooded winter coats to keep warm while walking through the attraction. Coats are available in all sized, including children and infants, and up to an adult 4XL. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required on your part, so plan accordingly before your arrival.
The Gaylord Palms offers a ton of other Christmas activities which we were also treated to, the first was the awesome Christmas tree lighting ceremony, complete with Christmas carolers, lights, and a massive 54-foot-tall Majestic Christmas Tree. The tree lighting occurs daily at 6:15pm and it is a sight for sore eyes. Once lit up, the Gaylord Palms atrium is truly spectacular, like something out of a fairytale.

You can also catch two daily complementary shows of Cirque Dreams UnWrapped in the Gaylord Palms atrium. This is a 25-minute Christmas show of imagination and creativity, performed both on stage and in the air. This was a great prequel to set the mood before heading over to ICE!
