Melbourne Travel Tribe

Last nights Melbourne #traveltribe for the month of November took place at its usual location; the Emerald Peacock on Lonsdale St.

This was my second time attending #traveltribe since moving back to Melbourne from the US in August of this year. Apart from travel itself, I’m not sure there’s anything better than a group of people, all with a common interest, gathering together to talk about that one thing they love and are so passionate about… except for maybe chocolate… and hot boys… but you can have both chocolate and hot boys while travelling… or chocolate on hot boys. Problem solved.

Four beers in and I was Miss chatty and giggly. Not that I got around to chatting with everyone in attendance, but I definitely think Leigh took the cake with best story of the night on two occasions. The first being the epic Thai sunburn story (hilarious!) and the second, the crammed bus story complete with real chickens and some random guy singing and playing a guitar to Leigh’s girlfriend… all while the bus was in motion!

Will definitely be back next month!

If you’re a keen traveller, I recommend following some of the people I enjoyed sharing awesome travel stories with last night and checking out their blogs and travel sites:

Love travel or work in the industry in Melbourne? Come along for a few drinks!

After starting in Sydney, Travel Tribes is spreading across the globe and now has meetups in Toronto, London, San Francisco, NYC and Melbourne! We had a great turnout for the first event in September and hope the November get together is even better.

Help us spread the word by bringing anyone you know who is interested in travel in Melbourne along. It’s a great way to share stories and ideas about where to go next.

Unless it’s pouring with rain, you’ll find us on the rooftop of The Emerald Peacock.
